Good day to everybody!!
My uncle gave me this pen a few years back. I have no idea which model it is. Datewise I can't say much either apart that:
the clip ring has GERMANY and a serial number on it.
Two tone 14K nib.
Feed looks like it is made of plastic.
Can the same diagrams used to date the 149 be used or not?
Guesses anyone?

Do I like it? Yes. Although the black one that was stolen looked better
Does it write well? Yes. Although a bit scratchy.
Would I buy one myself? No
Why? The body feels like it is made of cheap plastic and I would not spend the money it costs for one.
That said I'm not looking into the horse's mouth too closely :-)
I'm using it with a batch of cartridges I've had for some time and that I've noticed are evaporating, so removed the converter and plugged in a cartridge.

Thank you
Marco

Looks like a 144 to me.

Datewise, the 149 charts are not going to be of any use. That's especially true since the 149 charts cover ~70 years of production, and there wasn't a lot of change between the early 90s and about 2014(which covers when this pen was most certainly made).

Thank you FredRydr, does the R mean anything in particular?

Montblanc Meisterstück 144 comes in black or red and 144R just means it's a red version.
Many users just call them numbers like 144, 146, 147 and 149 but they are all Meisterstück model versions.
Datewise probably early 1990's after they stopped using W.Germany when the Berlin Wall came down. Check out this site (http://fountainpen.de/classic-montblanc-meisterstueck.htm)

this is also what is written on the cap band, Meisterstück. Too simple to say R = red though 😊
Anyway I realigned the tines and now isn't scratchy anymore 👍🏻
Thank you for the inputs
