I only just noticed the upcoming postage increase from the US Postal Service, effective 10 July 2022: https://about.usps.com/newsroom/national-releases/2022/0406-usps-new-prices-for-2022.htm

Briefly:


Letters (1 oz.) - 60¢ (up from 58¢)

Letters additional ounce(s) - 24¢ (up from 20¢)

Domestic postcards - 44¢ (up from 40¢)

International Letter (1 oz.) and postcards - $1.40 (up from $1.30). But not always. Currently, the basic international letter rate allows up to 2 oz. to Canada according the the USPS online calculator. Are there other exceptions?

Looks like it's time to restock my supply of "Forever" stamps (one of the few good things from USPS in the last few years).

On the plus side, first class parcels are being delivered lately from the east coast to the west coast in only two business days! They must go on the same airplanes as Priority.

On the minus side, virtually every postcard I receive these days is damaged by skid marks dug into the image side. Perhaps the extra 4¢ (compare letters at only 2¢ more) will bring about an end to this postal vandalism.

USPS is increasing rates for domestic services from October 2nd to January 22nd.

Those Forever stamps make it so easy for the US Postal Service to raise postage rates. Next increase: January 24, 2024.

I'm still using Forever stamps I paid $0.49 for...

Perhaps you should feel fortunate that your International letters are only going up by 5 cents. Last October our International stamp price went up from GB£1.85 to GB£2.20. We would have been well satisfied if it had only gone up by 5p. In fact an increase of only 5p would have been a first.

Some of my older post cards say "Place 1¢ Stamp Here," and below that it says "2¢ Foreign."
