John included several photos in addition to his photographic advice.
The National Pony Express Association (https://nationalponyexpress.org/about/) preserves the tradition and allows you to purchase specially postmarked envelope that the riders will carry. You can also purchase stationery that you can return to them to have it mailed.
How wonderful that this organization preserves one of America's great traditions !
While the 2022 re-ride is completed, I'm looking forward to next year.
