I´ve had an happy day, yesterdayforum].:):)In my mind I think its the universe way of compensate me the fact that the day before I had a kidney stone come out in a painfully way:cry::cry:

The post man left in my mail box two new pens for my collection. Surprisingly they are in super shape and the 132 is even ready to write having the cork perfectly working. The 334 1/2 arrived without the nib, but I had a correct one at home and installed. Also, I've painted the engravings with a special golden wax I like. Still have to polish them a bit and take some minor scratches out and they will look almost as new.

All pens have now steel nibs from the WWII period, that I particularly enjoy and consider to par if not better than the gold ones. The ink windows are perfect, especially the 132 where the stripes are amazing!! Not asy to find a pen like this in this pristine condition.

I have a question for you guys about clip that is on the 334 1/2. I have seen this clip previously in other Mb's from the 3 tier line, but I am not sure if they are Montblanc ( I have another MB that arrived with this clip and I swapped it back then).

Can anyone confirm its a MB clip and if its correct to this pen, please?

Here are the pictures, hope you enjoy them. L->R MB 333 1/2 ( to compare clips), MB 334 1/2, MB 132

@orfew :Thank you for your kindness!

@KrazyIvan: Thanks. I love it too, the yellow color of the celluloid and the black from the stripes are just perfect!

Neat, the 333 and 334 are war time models too.

I'm not so sure about the clip on that one but, I'm not an expert on the wartime clips.

Pavoni on FPN has an excellent thread with references for clips, nibs, etc. and the thread might be of help to you.

Pavoni also has the same doubt I have. I have two MB's 33X series pens that came with that clip, Pavoni also has at least one that is showed in his thread, so i am inclined to say its an original clip used by MB during the WWII Period. It would be huge coincidence to find 3 unrelated MB 33X series pens with the same non original clip...

They are, clearly, not has good as regular clips used by MB, but they characterize well the hardship of producing non war items in those days in Germany. It's an interesting piece of history... and I may say they are rarer then the regular ones.

But would love to get someone else to confirm this, please!!

Thank you Fawkes!!

I just saw that pavoni has the same clip as your 334 1/2. I would say it is a wartime clip from MB, an ersatz clip as it were. I do like the look of it with the incised cap bands.

I just bought a wartime 334 1/2 (incised cap bands and steel nib) and it has the same clip as yours.

I am now pretty sure mb used those clips. I have seen to many with it to be only a coincidence.
