Probably Richard Binder. The Commonwealth is the only show he attends these days and the only place you'll find him working on pens.

Day 1 done. I attended from opening until around 2:30.

Richard Binder fixed my 20yo Cross ATX, which had been out of commission for 3 years, and turned my Opus 88 Omar broad nib into a Cursive Italic. We had a nice chat about the Japanese eyedropper system while he worked.

Richard's wife Barbara told the story of boxes of pens arriving. "He tells me 'They're for my next book, I need them.'" I find myself strongly relating to the anecdote.

Alan of Crazy Al's Emporium sold me an absolutely beautiful Pilot Vanishing Point SE in Marble Red. I showed Richard and Barbara. Richard pretended to pocket the pen.

I got to try some vintage flex pens, and had a micro-lesson in Spencerian from another attendee who happened to be trying out a Wahl Eversharp. I'm very happy I went. I've been wanting to go for three years, and finally got the chance.
