So that's the pen I'm trying to match. Bamboo forest? WAY too light.

So I started mixing inks... Sadly this scan is over exposed. But here are the three mixes I've come up with...

Mix two I think needs a BIT more green.

Mix three is intriguing. Which matches best to YOUR eye?

I think Mix 1 is a good match. Darker to match the barrel and the green, IMO, matches the edges well.

I'm not sure how much the White Balance in the picture is correct, but if it does.. definitely mix #1.

I tried out sample #3 first, just because I use Kon-Peki all the time and have a lot less of it and #3 doesn't need Kon-Peki. ;) Also, didn't see all your replies before this trial. Doh!

Here's a scan (adjusted in Lightroom as it was severely over exposed. Bamboo Forest is my 'control.' This is 2ml of Bamboo Forest + 1ml of Moonlight. IRL #1 and #3 are surprisingly close. In a Noodler's Creeper flex nib I can't tell the difference between the two unless I keep them CAREFULLY labeled.

So here is #3, loaded in the Nakaya. When the feed is super wet from loading it is VERY dark, but then evens out quite a bit.

Well, it does get lighter, but i think you have a winner.. Great job!

Just for the sake of discussion: I was going to say a Ku-jaku peacock iridescent blue-green would look amazing, because the cap color peeking through in the photo seemed to match Mix #2. And the sparkling sand in the section looks iridescent to me, too. But maybe I was only seeing what I wanted to see? lol (It wouldn't be the first time.)

P.S.. From your review, I just loved the story of you and your pen. Being disappointed at first but then realizing that the artist gave you the Milky Way and the green borealis of your childhood--both visible now only in memory. With Gandalf customizing your nib (I guess that was Gandalf the Platinum?) and the unspoken connections between you and the artists who created your pen, the whole experience seemed entirely fit for a poet. Beautiful.

Hah! Carole, you are right. I totally missed Ku-Jaku! That's pretty spot on. *face-palm*

Well, hey, understandable--in the presence of this pen, anybody would have a hard time staying earthbound. When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's amore! Or a custom Nakaya!
