Hello all. Today was my birthday and some family members got me this inkwell. I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about it. I did some ebay searches and found similar ones, but nothing as detailed as this one or in as good condition. I haven't been able to find a makers stamp anywhere on the piece, nor have I found any folding/joining seams. It appears to be brass, maybe brass plated tin(?), as it's lighter than one would expect a solid piece of brass to be. Any help is appreciated.49454946

It's a "Qalamdan" or pen case with inkwell. The long tube is for the quill pens storage, used mainly for Muslim text. I don't know the age of that one, perhaps late 19th to 20th century. Hth.
