Hi to all! I generally don't write ink reviews, but I have two exceptions: OS Nitrogen Royal Blue and this series. I have been drawing by fountain pens for a long time and for quite some time I needed to have inks with water- and light-resistance properties. My favorite ink for drawings commission is Platinum Carbon Black, but it's only black and not to everyone's taste. I have been looking at this series for about two years and during that time I never saw a detailed review, so I decided to buy all inks and make them myself.

Rohrer & Klingner – SketchINK® (made in Germany)

The review is very extensive and took about a month, so I'm posting some general photos here and the full review at the link. Thank you for attention.

I'm rendered almost speechless by this set of reviews. Astonishing artwork, heartrending stories and such a professional approach under the most difficult of circumstances.

Thank you Andrew.

I echo mizgeorge's comments. While I really appreciate your review of the inks from a technical and artistic perspective, the stories of these brave people are awe inspiring and made the sketches come to life. Your sketches are truly amazing and the passion you have for the people you are sketching is very evident.

What an amazing super-review+++!

I am sorry the ink properties were disappointing. I just received Thea, my first SketchINK, just a few days ago and I am now eager to see what I find when using it.

I do really like it the softness of all the colors when dry.

Thank you very much for these warm words!

Yes, this is individual difference of this series, after drying the ink becomes much softer. Perhaps it was specially made to combine with watercolor inks. From all inks, this is most evident on Emma. One more, I also have the impression that inks work better on expensive watercolor paper, that is, they lose their colors less.

Well done!

Thank you

Update 16.01.2023:

I forgot that I did not test these inks for water resistance, so I add the test by water. On the left is a test sheet for test, on the right – after watering under the tap and dried. For the test, I used pointed dip nib Brause №361 “Pumpkin”, but without pressure. As you can see from the test, the ink is 100% waterproof, like my favorite Platinum Carbon.

Also added(updated review) two red mixes named Margot and Moulin Rouge :))

Thanks Andrew for such a comprehensive and artist focused review. It was so enlightening, I could almost relive every stroke. I'm so glad you have your art, in these dire moments, to bring yourself, and us, so much beauty in these moments of war.
