Extra Fine Nib Ink Review: Colorverse Ham #65 Glistening

This is review #218 in my series. Here's the YouTube video:

https://youtu.be/Ntc2jpQ5Imw

Post-recording notes: Cleaning was simple with plain water, but you may need extra flushes to fully remove the glitter from your feed. This glitter-type doesn't really like EF nibs, or the total glitter-load is low. Despite seeing glitter in the feed, It's hard to find it on paper. It seems to need super-wet flow before the glitter really shows up.

Zoomed in photo (The camera seems to have ignored the green lean. I corrected a little, but it's still not right.)

Screenshot (A bit too blue / lacking green.)

Scan of Completed Review (Pretty close.)

Absorbent Paper Close-up (top is puzzle paper like thick newsprint, bottom is old 20lb copy paper) (Both: Too blue, not quite dark enough.)

Line width (One of the lines used for dry time. Magnification is 100x. The grid is 100x100µm. The scale is 330µm, with eleven divisions of 30µm each. The line width for this ink is roughly 330µm. With 218 inks measured, the average line width is 295µm.)

Microscope image (100x. Taken with cellphone through eyepiece. The ink itself is boring, but I wanted you to see the glitter - some are red, some not (don't know if that's a trick of light or what).)

If my ham was that color, it would go straight in the trash.

Micro: Super Bowl after-party living room floor? 😜

The screen shot makes it look almost gray. The real color is one I like, but I gave up on Eternity Dry inks. And with glitter. Still, I love the serial. Thanks for the review, LizEF!

This review was processed on my old computer, and it turns out everything there looked too blue, but I didn't know it. The zoom and absorbent paper images look closer to reality than the scan, which is way too green on my new computer, never mind the screen capture! (You're right, it's very lacking in color.) Sorry about that. I think my next review is the last one I did on the old computer. It's a black ink, so which computer is irrelevant.

I'm glad that our fellowship of the ink is back to the original trio! Looking forward to their new adventures :)

As for the ink, I think Sailor said it all! :D

:) Yeah. The pics of this one really suffered due to me not realizing how off my old screen was. It's also the first glitter ink (but [spoiler alert!] not the last!) that I wouldn't really recommend for an EF nib (unless said EF is super-wet).

Thank you as always Liz - fab review. And you've saved me from another one. I've dithered a bit over this one from time to time (in spite of my dislike of Colorverse's weird bottle formats and sizes) but the lid is now firmly nailed down - I don't want it!

And let's hope Makhabesh doesn't come to regret that bit of bravado...

... - fab review.

:D Thank you!

Glad to have saved you from an inky monster! Though I'll say, if it's the color of my images, note the previous comments about how off they are. If it's the long dry time or the glitter needing a gushing pen, well, that's legit, so... Run for the hills!! ;)

And let's hope Makhabesh doesn't come to regret that bit of bravado...

Makhabesh? Regret? Never happen. :D
