The newly reconstituted San Diego Pen Club will be meeting on Saturday, April 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This will take place in the Community Room of the Tierrasanta Library, 4985 La Cuenta Dr., San Diego, CA 92124.

All are welcome to attend. We have a focus on fountain pens, but bring any new pens, inks, papers, or any other favorite items you'd like to show the group. It is likely that some of us will go to lunch afterward, and all are welcome for that, as well.

We hope to see you there!

It sounds like an excellent day out, I am very envious.

Something that you may want to consider is for each person to bring a low priced item, perhaps a notebook, new bottle of ink, a pen, or whatever. Then have a prize draw.

Jon---your pen photos are always so well composed. Thanks for the eye-candy.

All the Best.

Thank you, Rob, that is a good idea. We've had some thoughts along these lines. The fellow who started the group, years ago, passed away recently (Ron Meloche). For various reasons, it had stayed a small group, but now we are reaching out and expanding. I know that with an influx of new members, door prizes and sharing our wares is definitely on the table (see below).

Oh, thank you! That's very kind. The photo has a certain purpose: when Ron passed away we had a few of his pen restoration projects that hadn't gotten done; the blue Sheaffer Craftsman is one such pen. I brought it home, put in a new sac, adjusted the nib and did a light surface restore, and we are going to give it out as a 'door prize' in his honor. I took down one of my favorite pen books (by Paul Erano), found a Sheaffer ad, and shot the quick photo. I appreciate the feedback!

I can find a pen that would disqualify me from attending. BUT I didn’t get a hand written invite to be on the A list so I ain’t goin anyway.

Don't be a dork, it's almost two weeks away. the USPS isn't *that* slow. And it's not as if I don't have a box or two of inappropriate pens...

Per TSherbs request, here are a couple quick snaps from today's get-together. We had some new people, increasing by more than a 1/3 the size of the group, and I think more will come next time. Fun time with both vintage and new, and good to have new energy for looking at these little things. A very nice start to the newly-refreshed SD Pen Club!

Awesome! Thx Jon. Looks like a happy bunch! I'm also jealous of whatever that green stuff is on the outside through the window....
