Hi all

Anyone know what the optimal length is for the different Vacumatic Diaphragms is

All the new ones need cutting but both the repair books I have (Parker & DaBook) don't mention the length they need to be cut to before installation.

Anyone know what the correct length for each type of pen is, Deb, Standard & Maxima.

Thanks

Paul

You'll see slightly different lengths depending on where you look. Out of curiosity, I recently tried both extremes of the 26.2 mm to 27.0 mm range mentioned in Richard Binder's site, using the same diaphragm. Capacity seemed to be the same, though the method used to check it was a bit crude. I had figured that the shorter diaphragm length would be a bit easier on the OAP return spring, but if there was a difference, I couldn't detect it.
