Hi all

I have a small collection of Parker Vacumatics that I need a bit of help Identifying.

If anyone can help.

5272

Going from top down

1. Made in USA. Lengths, Capped 129mm, Posted 153mm, Base to nib Tip 121mm.
2. Made in Canada. Lengths, Capped 129mm, Posted 153mm, Base to Nib Tip 121mm.
3. Made in Canada. Lengths, Capped 120mm, Posted, 146mm, Base to Nib Tip 111mm.
4. Made in Canada. Lengths, Capped 118mm, Posted 137mm, Base to Nib Tip 110mm.
5. Made in USA. Lengths, Capped 116mm, Posted 144mm, Base to Nib Tip 108mm

My guess is the first two are Standards, the third is a Junior, and the forth is a Débutante, but the fifth one has me stumped?

Can anyone confirm my guesses or provide a correct ID for them all especially the last one.

Thanks

Paul

Very nice pens. I guess the 2nd one could be the same as this Parker Vacumatic Major.

It does look like it doesn't it.

Do the majors thank the same size filler unit as the smaller ones, these all have the same size unit. Was it only the maxima that took the bigger unit.

Thank for that dduran

According to the list on Richards site and only going on the capped length as posting will change with wear I have the following, but with caution.

1 is a Major
2 is a Major
3 is a Deb ?
4 is a Deb ?
5 is a Deb ?

the last three are only guesses as according to Richards list the capped length of a Deb should be 4 11/16 which according to my calculator is 119.1 any my three pens are

3 is 120mm
4 is 118mm
5 is 116mm

4 is difficult to measure accurately as it has the top jewel missing and I was making an educated guess as to how much to add.

But none of them are close to the 119.1 they should be for a Deb, where there any other models not listed on Richards site.

Lovely pens, Paul.

If you can't find the info at Tony's site ( http://www.parkercollector.com (http://parkercollector.com/) ), I would highly consider joining (if you haven't already) and posting the photo and question over at the Fountain Pen Board. Very deep pool of knowledge from a somewhat smaller number of people. David I., alone, could probably tell you every variant of Vac made. Either one of those resources should nail it for you.
