My TWSBI mini, became stained on the interior of the cap. It has only been inked with iroshizuku tsuki-yo. I tried to clean it by soaking in water, and when that didn't work I tried the Goulet Pen Flush. It now looks as though the interior of the cap has been abraded.
I emailed the below to TWSBI customer service on 9/7 at 0826, and have not received any response as of yet.

Hi,
I have a number of your fountain pens and think they are an excellent value. However one of my Mini Diamond Clear has a pretty badly discolored cap. I have tried cleaning with water as well as Goulet Pen Flush, and nothing seems to work. It has only been inked with iroshizuku tsuki-yo ink. Please let me know if I can get a new cap to replace this one.

Thank you,

Since then I have noticed the cap on my 540 is also noticably darker, almost a smoke gray in the top half of the cap, inked only with Diamine Denim.
Still hoping to hear back something from the company.

I too have the mini clear and there are two parts to the cap. The outer cap is transparent clear and the inner cap, which is about half the depth of the outer cap is a bit smokey grey from the factory. Not as transparent clear as the outer cap, but a noticeable difference.

whoa, what happened to the inner cap? Looks like it got disconnected from the outer cap?

anyways, yes, mine is a bit smokey clear like yours, but not as pronounced. I think your pic may be due to the lighting.

Mine is just like this photo pulled from google images

If I could do away with the inner cap I would. What I don't particularly like about it is that it is a "demonstrator" but the cap isn't entirely transparent.

I removed the inner cap with a pencil eraser. It allows access to clean the cap when ink gets in it.

Removing the inner cap may cause the nib to dry out ... beyond that I am not sure what else.

Yes, that's standard TWSBI. Back when the 1.1 nibs were initially sold, TWSBI sent out a new inner cap with the nib as the original one is not big enough to accommodate the 1.1 mm nib. It does make it easy to clean out.

Just heard from Philip. He is taking care of this. Thanks everyone. And a big THANKS to Philip.

Have to go order another TWSBI now :)
