Extra Fine Nib Ink Review: Jinhao Black

This is review #250 in my series. Here's the YouTube video:

https://youtu.be/707MCj136JA

Post-recording notes: This cartridge was gifted to me by a generous FPNer. When heavily diluted (like washing out the cartridge), it's a nice dark blue, almost blue-black. :) The "Partial" water resistance is really "minimal" or "slight". Cleaning was easy with plain water but did require some extra flushes due to how concentrated the ink is. The ink is black, the images look sufficiently black. :)

Errata: Reviewing while kitten is awake, counting days inked, and spelling "permanence".

Line width (The "h" in Rhodia. Magnification is 100x. The grid is 100x100µm. The scale is 330µm, with eleven divisions of 30µm each. The line width for this ink is roughly 318µm. With 250 inks measured, the average line width is 296µm.)

Microscope image (100x. Lots of these feathery lines. I assume the color is just due to the glass or something - there was no red or purple hue to the ink.)

Another Tuesday is here! Thanks, Liz. Love the reviews and story.

I'm pretty almost positive sure I have this ink in cartridge form, and that I used it in a hooded Jinhao'fari,' where it had hard starts. I'd try one out but my pen/ink numbers are soaring. I do recall it being quite blakity dense.

There's a purple sea with feathery swaths afloat, and a teeny figure sitting there who may or may not be malevolent. Walking talking skeletons are pure Ray Harryhausen territory, and scary while still being nostalgic. Be strong! Go Dream Team!

:D You're very welcome! The Universe wanted to skip Tuesday this week, but I talked it into keeping it just so I could post my review! ;)

Yep, it's a nice black black.

Another terrific Tuesday - thank you so much @LizEF for reviewing an ink I've been interested in. I'm not a big user of black inks, but I'm always curious about what's going on in the background, if that makes sense.

Now. Skeletons. I could have done with a bit more warning before those came up. I'm having a very definite Zelda dungeon moment now - I might have to turn up the oxycon!

:pound: I hadn't thought of Zelda, but yeah, I can totally see that. Wait until next week, I'm sure you'll enjoy it! :D :D
