Yes, but not by preference.. I'm a 100% chocoholic. Here in New England, plain vanilla is always available.

Hi,

for real ice cream I have to go to the ice cafe in the city...
Here vanilla ice is in the shops, sometimes even with real vanilla,
but it is not the same - blown up with nitrogen (or air?) so it stays fluffy in the fridge.

I think all children hate peas and other green vegetables, and I read a study many years ago examining tastes changing as we age. Split pea soup is now a favorite. Go figure…

We had a local dairy and bought vanilla ice cream in gallon buckets (which are in every household for miscellaneous reasons). The ice cream counter dating back to the 40s still remains and is a local favorite, although the dairy is now owned by some corporate conglomerate…

I liked peas as a kid (and today, too).

Peas? Meh. But I used to love string beans, until I got sick of them.

Do you have a love-hate relationship with string beans or, worse yet, an abusive relationship with string beans?

I wouldn't say abusive. I've simply matured beyond the need for string beans. Especially in ice cream.

I also used to be able to eat those enormous, greasy fried onion blossom things without sustaining serious damage.
