This is a mini-review, on the heels of dneal's excellent review of his pen (https://fpgeeks.com/forum/showthread.php/40739-Dodecagon-Asymmetry-Blue). It appears we both had the same curiosity, sparked by posts that looked to be a nicely made line of pens, even if they are in the development stage. The difference between our two pens seems to only be in the cap machining: his pen had 12 facets, while mine is covered with a myriad of diamond-shaped patterns machined into the ebonite. Dneal and I even (unknowingly) chose the same dark blue / black ebonite, and it is a handsome material. The photos aren't great at all, but I chose to shoot in sunlight because the blue is pretty subtle in standard light.

I concur with all said in that previous review: the pen is right in my wheelhouse, having a lot of similarities to HR pens I love from the teens and 20s (last century), a comfortable long section area, and excellent machine work. Finished to just past a matte finish but before glossy, it feels good in the hand. I did only the most minor of touch up on the nib, and I'll likely swap in something that has been ground to my specs, but I'm glad to support a new pen maker bringing some interesting items to market.

BTW, it may not be obvious, but the entire pen is made of that same dark black/blue ebonite. The diamonds/triangles on the cap aren't lighter, they are just reflecting the light.

If I have any complaints, it was about having to decide what pattern.

I hear that. I had held off from earlier models but the diamond bit snagged me. If I can figure out how to do a really short video, it's actually cool how much the facets reflect light if you rotate it in your hand.

And I just gotta put a moratorium on new pens. It's been a busy few weeks and I have too many to use and appreciate.

Interesting and cool pen, Jon.
I kinda like the long section as well.

The growing of CNC technologies in mini turning and milling machines makes the design possibilities almost limitless. A good embodiment of ideas. Thanks for sharing.
