J Herbin Rouge Grenat (Garnet Red)

I mistook the words, Grenat (Garnet) and Grenade (pomegranate). Hence you'll see a burn of pomegranates. Maybe secretly I wanted it to be named after the fruit, rather than the stone :)
Lithium466 was gracious enough to point it to me, many thanks 🙏
I decided to keep the original "misleading" photo, as the garnets resemble pomegranate seeds ;)

And finally an artwork, not my best, but it's to showcase the range of the ink:

Thank you as always Yazeh - I always smile when I see a new one of these pop up.

I have to admit, I generally prefer pomegranates to garnets, but I quite like the redness (as opposed to pinkness) of this ink, where many of the Herbins are really quite rosy. It's particularly nice in washes, especially for florals.

I love the artwork - mousey looks like he's crossing his legs using his free hand as a guard in anticipation - rather like someone in a penalty wall in a football match :)

Great review, as always, Yazeh. Thank you! :) I think I would enjoy this color, though I'll have to try it to be sure - hard to say with reds. Love your drawings - even the one on the swatch card - kitty planning his fruit-attack... :) Love the kitty-pushing-something-off-the-edge artwork - very true to life, that one. ;) And clever mousey with his super-strength umbrella makes me smile - he, too, knows kitty well. :D

Glad to know that :)

Me too! But there's something with the colour red that doesn't pass with me with inks, at least for now :) And Ive, noticed most if not all J Herbin red are the pink side :)
