I use wood pencils quite a lot, mostly for drawing. Although I have a variety of grades, I tend to go through more HBs than anything else.

Pencil extenders are a good way to keep on using a perfectly good wooden pencil after it's gotten a bit too short to hold comfortably I just sharpened the little stub of a Mitsubishi pencil that you see in the first photo, put it in the extender, and we're good to go.

At the point that this one is ready for another sharpening, though, I may retire it. Although I have gotten them shorter than this.

I also use different extenders to keep my pencils comfortable to hold. Here is a photo of some ot them:

I quite like the Faber Castell perfect pencil for the same reasons plus it has a sharpener in it.

I like them for pastel pencils and color pencils in general they can be soo expensive to not use up.
