Emperor in Bog Oak

This was a retirement gift for a friend who recently retired from teaching. He loved to teach history so I made this pen from 4 000 year old bog oak.

Thank you Bogon. I never really thought much about the name because this is a kit pen called an Emperor and the blank is Ukrainian bog oak but now that you mention it it does sound really neat.

Love the bog oak material and what you've done with it.
The standard kit certainly makes a statement, but may be a little too flashy. Then again, if anyone gives such a beauty to me as a gift, man! I'll be ecstatic.
The box is also very lovely.

Those are very nice quality kits, and you have done an excellent job showing it off with a cool blank and an awesome finish. :thumb:

I always thought the 'bog oak' thing was pretty fascinating. Adds a bit of mystique to the pen.
