Absolutely in love with this color. The shading. The color variation from yellow orange to red orange. It has a thin flow. Not smooth like some Noodler's more saturated colors.

One thing to watch out for is you must absolutely clean out every trace of any previous color you had in your pen, because it will tint this and it will be very noticeable.

Interesting, thank you.

I've been playing about with orange inks in three identical pens just recently: Apache Sunset, PR Shoreline Gold and a Diamine based homebrew mixture. I really don't buy into this idea that AS is a uniquely wonderful shading ink, in fact if anything it's the PR which took the honours. It strikes me that all orange inks display exaggerated shading (that goes for Sailor Apricot and Akkerman Oranje Boven too, for instance). What I will say, however, is that for sheer retina-searing intensity of colour Apache Sunset is the one to beat.

Not so much unique in its shading, but the shading has a quite dramatic color variation that goes along with it.
