This is Sally (The Sally Monster), who we picked up from the pound about 6 months ago. She has taken up most of my free time lately. She's 11 months old, about 90 pounds, and extremely active. Her goal in life is to destroy all of her enemies, the throw rugs.

Beyond that, I try to spend a fair amount of time tying to learn how to play guitar. Don't know that I will able to say "I play" ever.

This Abbey Road. She will be six months old tomorrow.

Last Friday she learned that she could jump all the way up to the shower door.

http://www.fototime.com/B7EDCE85D780CA6/medium800.jpg

And she can turn around and walk from here to there.

The medicine cabinet looks very different and so does the light.

But there is no way to get down and so she had to call and call and call. And when I came in I looked everywhere but couldn't find her and started to leave again but I saved her.

Today she is at the vet for surgery. She is not sure that was fair.

@jar - Was she broken, so you're having her "fixed"

'fraid so. She said she was fine but you know how kids are, they always think they are fine.

We don't have pets, or children at the moment. So these are two of our babies -- Babble (the puppy) and Tutu (the bunny). The picture was taken in our hotel room when we visited the Iguazu Falls in Argentina a few months ago. They are our faithful travel companions.

Babble is actually quite a bit younger than Tutu, but the bossy little bunny stopped growing and is now dwarfed by her baby brother. :noidea:

When not penning, I am with my family. I have three daughters. It has been an adventure raising them and I am proud of them and love them very much.

We do have a dog. He was a shelter pet we rescued about three years ago. He has been the best family pet/friend I have ever known.

When not with the family, I can be found here. I am an audio enthusiast and do live sound for my church as well as at work. I also find time to use my minidisc recorders. I sometimes edit sound tracks and create audio productions that include sound effects for church functions.

Thanks, Paul. Likely we all have our passions. Certainly we share that of fountain pens here and now also photography.
As in all endeavors, so long as we keep striving to be better, then our enthusiasm stays alive! Enjoy!

My wife bought me an acoustic guitar 20 years ago. For a lot of reasons, I never had the time to learn to play it until 3 weeks ago. I am taking an Intro to Guitar class at adult continuing education. I can play one chord (G), have almost nailed another (C) and am working on a third (D). I practice about an hour a day split into 15 or 30 minute fragments. I like it.

The good news is that the guitar gives my wife and I something new to discuss, music. She plays the piano and is showing me scales on the piano. More good news is that with the guitar expense out of the way, the other "needed" accessories didn't cost too much.

Bad news - I'm already looking at buying a Fender Jaguar or Jazzmaster and probably a Fender Telecaster or Stratocaster after that. "Lucille" (Gibson ES-355) may be the grail guitar. Or I may get a uke, guitalele or bangjolele. When I dug out the guitar I found my Hohner Blues Harps (C & G). I have begun playing around with them. Then I discovered my older (deceased many moons ago) brother's student trumpet. It needs a heavy duty overhaul but I have been playing around with the mouth piece to develop my embrouchure. The really bad news - I have put pen buying on hiatus in anticipation of some expensive music related purchases.

They're 6 months old. Life consists of eating, sleeping, climbing the walls, chasing each other or their own tails, doing funny things. Sometimes I think "now grow up already!". Sometimes I don't want them to.

Yes, I've heard that from others about the PPK/S - never happened to me...yet! Surprisingly accurate little pistol. Finicky eater, though - seems to like nothing but white box Winchester FMJ's.

Good luck with your guitar playing. The good news is that the chords you are learning (G,C,D) make up hundreds of songs.

I teach Advanced Placement literature and composition, which takes up much of my time. On weekends and during holiday and summer vacations I love to cook and garden. I'm also an avid reader. About 6 months ago my husband and I became grandparents, so I must add spoiling my new grandson to my hobbies!

Grandparents duty is to spoil them rotten and give them a big cotton candy about a half hour before you send them home.

Short Answer: A little bit of everything.

However, I just realized that I would bore everyone with a more lengthy response so here are a few highlights from the past 6 months:

I’m the Vice President of the Austin, TX Junior Chamber of Commerce. Here’s a picture with Bill Engvall from the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. This was at a paralysis benefit from earlier this year:

Last weekend during the Austin City Limits Festival, I got to meet Adrian Grenier from the show Entourage:

Circuit of the Americas World Endurance Challenge race from three weeks ago. A friend of mine gave me tickets in the middle of the main straight.

A fishing trip I took in August down in Galveston, TX:

I’m also a big car guy. My current performance car is a modified BMW 335i. It makes around 380hp/400tq

At the moment I'm enjoying the beautiful "Indian Summer" weather we're having here in the Sacramento (California) Delta region. It's going to continue for another week it seems.

Generally I spend my time tending to my home and husband and our dog, Seneca (a black mini-schnauzer who seems to have a vocal opinion about everything.) After a demanding professional career, I worried that I'd be bored once I retired, but such is not the case, thanks to many hobbies (photography, drawing/sketching, journaling, walking my dog, playing my electronic keyboard, reviewing my Spanish and German, reading my Kindles), keeping up with friends and neighbors, various activities at church, and making Rosaries for our Priests, Nuns, and Missionaries to hand out. AND, of course, spending time reading this forum since I recently discovered it.

But I take the time every day to play with my nine fountain pens and write a few pages in my journal, which is very relaxing and helps me get organized.

I keep telling myself to do that. Write a few pages in the journal every day, that is.

Apart from penning, I tend my home and DH, practice BBQ, watch horse racing, once made a mockumentary, and spend waaay too much time on teh innerwebs.

Also have a great collie I'm working on getting her therapy dog cert so she can work with me (I'm an Episcopal priest, spend lots of time in hospitals and nursing homes!). She takes up a LOT of time, she's six months old and fabulous, but so much ENERGY!
