Hi all,

Here's a pen I just finished a couple of days ago, thought I would post some pics.

This was not actually a custom order, but one of those much needed 'just felt like doing it' pens. Had a piece of this cool ivory celluloid just begging to be used, so here's what I came up with.

This is really nice stuff - has a very prominent grain to it; turns wonderfully on the lathe; smells awesome (camphor) while working it. I decided to frame the celluloid with black ends rather than make the whole thing out of the same material - to my mind, it puts more focus on the celluloid that way. But I suppose that's an individual preference kinda thing. I fitted this pen with a 1.1mm stub nib.

Well, not much else to say. Thanks for looking!

Cheers,

Beautiful Ken love the contrast and subtle lines. Will I need to send you another blank for my shirt pocket pen?

Great looking pen. I always lean towards that set of colors for my personal pens. Where does one find the Ivory celluloid if it was available to others? Understandable if it is not, just never hurts to ask.

LOL! I hadn't thought of that - and there are two pianists in my home. Thanks for the compliment!

I'm new to the forum - stunning pen. (the fave pen in my collection is a midnight blue celluloid Monetgrappa Miya so have a real soft spot for celluloid). Beautiful work, thanks for sharing

Welcome to the forum! Great place to share the obsession. The Montegrappa sounds wonderful. If you ever get a chance, snap some pics of it to share - we all love pen pics here.
