Hi all

If anyone is in the market for a tool to remove the nib collar on their 149 there is a couple on the EvilBay at the moment, rather overpriced compared to other options, but that's the bay for ya.

Hope it's not a forum member selling them, I apologise if it is.

Just do a search for Montblanc tool and you will find them.

I prefer the ones done by the man in Belgium myself and they are a lot cheaper than these are now, god knows what silly price they will finish at. All good for the seller though.

I usually just use a bent paperclip for the piston. I'll have to check out the nib tool.

I made this using some scrap metal bracket I had in the garage in about 30 mins. I ended up giving it away for free to a fellow pen club member last month. I made another one using a $1.50 piece of metal from Home Depot. I've opened up all three of my 149's and my sole 146 to clean them out from the piston end. The bids on the latest ones are $70 plus. That's a lot of money for a tool, even if it is a CNC cut tool

I see the same seller now has a couple of piston removal tools as well, I wonder what silly price they will go for.

He has more of his nib tools up now, can't blame him though after getting £70 for the first ones I bet he thinks he is on to a right little earner with these tools.
