WH Smith seems to have an ambition to provide the cheapest Lamy 2000s you can get - currently the regular ballpoint and the Taxus ballpoint are heavily reduced; from £40+ to £26 and from £79 to £43 respectively. Their price on the Lamy 2000 fountain pen isn't bad either, though they only sell a medium nib AFAIK.
I have now taken advantage of these chaps to be utterly completist and order the Taxus to go with my other pens. I think it's probably my favourite of all the ballpoints, as the lovely yellow yew wood really glows, yet the grain just emphasises the very smooth lines of the pen. I've had the blackwood for a while but could never lay my hands on a Taxus.
