Todd over at isellpens has them for really low prices. I never really considered the 78G because I always heard it was a typical asian fine nib. I did not know there was a B stub version. When I saw it I did not think twice, especially at the price. It came with the push bar converter too. The pen really reminds me of my Parker Slimfold in just about every respect. The nib is just a little bit sharp and I have to be carefull about the position I hold it at while writing. Other than that it is smooth. It is maybe not as smooth as the Lamy 1.1 but it could be the sharpness of the edges that I am confussing with the smoothness of the nib.

Thanks for the review, KI. I have the same pen but in maroon and the nib on mine writes like a crisp italic, not a true stub, but I am very happy with it. Norman Haase of HisNibs.com (where I purchased the pen) explained this in the writeup about the pen on his website.

I agree on it being a crisp italic. I used the vendors description of the nib. I'll have to look up the hisnibs article. Thanks!

I have this pen and always enjoy it. It can be dry-ish, so I'm always sure to use free-flowing inks. I would not say that my nib is as sharp as yours though. My Lamy italic is definitely a bit sharper.

I had a double broad that was also crisp and dry-ish. I had to spread the tines a bit and hack the feed. It wrote a lot better but it turns out a double broad is just too wide for my handwriting.

I'd still like to get one though and I particularly the black version. I'll probably try a fine. :)

I have been using it every day with PR Tropical Blue and am loving it. This is a steal at the price I got it for. My only complaint is the converter. It holds too little ink for the way the nib spreads it on paper. I have to refill just about every day. I saw S. Brown's video about making it an eye dropper but I am not convinced it is safe on my pen. I have had to re-tighten the barrel when unscrewing the cap twice now. Maybe the silicone grease helps to keep the seal a little tighter but I am not going to risk it.

I definitely agree that these pens are a steal. They're available locally at really good prices. The only thing is there are no broad or double broad nibs. These we'd have to order elsewhere. Perhaps our local seller can be prevailed upon to order them since so many of our pen users are 78G fans and love broad nibs.
