Sheaffer Valiant Snorkel-Periwinkle
Up for sale is the pinnacle of all the snorkels I've ever owned (which has been many dozens), in one of the rarest colors of all--PERIWINKLE.
Here are the specs: Cap and barrel are in excellent shape. Barrel imprint is totally visible and readable, but not what I would call crisp. Blind cap imprint is crisp. Gf trim shows minimal to average wear. I would rate the pen as VG++ overall. A very nice specimen overall.
One flaw is that the clip has a very slight slant. It's rock hard firm. No looseness at all. But you can see the slant if you look close. Not a biggie for me.
Okay, the rare color of this snorkel is not the only major selling point of the pen, the other is --THE NIB. The nib is a 14 kt two-toned Triumph that is equipped with 1.0mm retip from Greg Minuskin. I've included the original pics of the nib that he sent me.
The line of ink this pen lays down is unparalleled IMHO. I would even go so far to say that you will hard pressed to find a better writing snorkel on planet earth. It truly is a beautifully writing pen.
Sac and seals were new when I bought it in June 2013.
