Some notes:

Made with the help (and patience) of Mrs. Rex because I'm crap at blanket stich on the edging.
Fabrics from http://www.kimonohouse.com.au
Bamboo writing mat and microfibre from Daiso.
Six pens are the maximum, but four is ideal, as I found out on the previous prototype.

Feel free to grab the design, because I'm sure someone, somewhere, already made something like this. Except they forgot to share! Just let us know of your improvements etc. Share and share alike :)

Well done!

+1 on the fabric... what is or was it before?

Thanks fellas.

The blue inserts are microfibre, they are always in contact with the pens, thus also clean them up. The vector pattern is cotton, doubles up as pen pillow. The exterior is chirimen. It's the same fabric as your Nakaya kimono, 100% rayon.

Tip: The simpler the pattern is, the better; to get the right position I had wasted a lot of fabric.

good job. nice way to keep the nibs up. here's what i do...

that's a staples legal pad on the flap, with an MHQ magazine on top, and a Hitchcock book on top of that.

Mysterious, and marvelous! It reminds me of a brush roll my mother used to use.

Is the inner pen-sleepingbag attached to the outer bamboo fortress at any points?

Thank you for your kind words. I put nine anchor points attached to the rolls threads in three columns. I sewn the middle column first, inserted the pens, marked the right and leftmost points, removed the pens, sewn the rest of the columns.

Pardon the necropost; don't wanna make a new thread.. same construction method but without the sushi mat.

I've got a tray on my desk, but it was pretty much useless from overcrowding. So today I made this pen wrap, or "sheaf" to house some of my Parkers plus the random ones from the storage. Combined with microfibre lining this Japanese motif fits the Parker theme nicely! This one only took me about ninety minutes with a sewing machine.

Is the inner fabric a "micro-fiber" kind of fabric?

Yep. I prefer the towel like texture over the finely woven one for cushioning. That way I can skip the wading.
