Hi I just got into fountain pens and needed a place to learn about them.
I think I've found a good one and have learned a lot in the little time I've been here.
I was only exposed to some cheap fountain pens in grade school and as they leaked and made a mess all over didn't think fountain pens were an option for me.
The availability of ball points I think helped with that, but I've never liked the way most of them look on paper
A few years ago a friend loaned me a fountain pen and I realize after using it, hey these things do work.
I was encouraged by this to buy an inexpensive Yafa medium from Office Depot and a Cross Bailey from Staples during a holiday sale.
I am presently waiting on a couple of Hero fine nib pens I ordered from China just to try.
One thing I learned is that my experience could have been better early on if I'd been exposed to some one who had experience with FP's.
Now I have a chance to learn about which pens and inks to try next.
