View Full Version : Buying a pen for the nib

One of the nice features of Pelikan's is the ability to change nibs.
I started looking for a nib or two to have on hand and have found that an entire pen is sometimes the way to go.
For example, I was looking for an OB nib for my M800 and found the nib to be priced at $320, but I bought an entire pen for $330.

Is this commonplace?

If you look hard enough (or wait long enough), you'll find M800 nibs go for ~$120 - $150, even brand new :) The retail price is a bit high, specially for the recently discontinued ones (Obliques, BB, and 3B)

Thank you, I will be on the lookout for this price range, it's more in line with what I'd like to pay.

Have a look on ebay.de. Search for: Pelikan 800 Ersatzfeder.
They are generally cheaper in Germany.
Unfortunately the unusal size nibs/pens usually sell at a premium, but you need patience.
