Material: Black highly processed plastic body, gold filled cap ring and clip.

Condition and information:
The pen offered here is the original Monte Rosa model made in the 1950's and comes in it's original box and price sticker on the cap. The pen is in absolute mint condition, not restored but originally preserved Montblanc masterpiece. Never used, never inked. No scratches, no dings, no cracks, perfectly preserved. This model is famous for its reliability, perfection in simplicity, both in design and functionality, there is nothing that can go wrong with it and its perfectly reliable. The pen has perfect form factor, superb balance, handling and feel, easy to use yet powerful and reliable writing instrument. This is the pen on which the model 342 was build, they are nearly identical. The pen comes with it original semi flexible nib placed on an ebonite feeder and feed ring. The "042G" is inscribed on the turning knob and Monte Rosa on the cap. Unlike 042 the 042G indicated the pen was fitted with gold nib as there were lower budget 042's with steel nibs. Piston is smooth with brass components meant to last, clean, clean blue ink window. Simply one of the best Montblancs of the 50's, and one of the all time best.
