A letter to someone with whom you already correspond counts, correct?

Yes, absolutely. The target is a letter or postcard in the mail everyday for the month of February. (Or, in my case, seven in the mail once a week.)

I happily receive letters at this address:

Rachel Young
772 Woodcreek Ct Apt 204

Please note that this address will only be usable during the month of February. Pen Pals that I have been corresponding with since last year will receive my new address once I have one available for you.

EDIT: I am going to have to withdraw from participating. I am afraid my work schedule is not going to allow for this. I am the last man standing in my department at work in February. This means I have inherited a lot of functions that I normally do not perform and I also have to contend with decommissioning all the computer/electronic equipment for a 120,000 square foot facility. My apologies. I will maintain my current pen pals but I do not believe I can add more at this time. If you sent a letter to me before this announcement, please do expect a reply.

When I'm sending mail out to other countries, how do I go about that? Are there extra costs, do I have to fill out a customs form, or anything like that? Please let me know!

As of January 26, 2014 Postcards will go from 33c -> 34c, Domestic Under 1oz (standard size) 46c -> 49c, International $1.10 -> $1.15
Forever stamps bought before rate increase will still work. There are Domestic as well as International Forever stamps. Unless you are sending something other than a letter, you will not need to worry about custom paperwork.

Hi Hal! You can get global forever stamps for letters. The customs forms are only if you're sending out a package. The global stamps are $1.80 ( I think) but the rate might be going up a bit this year, I'm not sure. Stamps are all you need!

If anyone else wants to read letters that are at least 4 pages long and deal with football, books, hobbies other than pens, and pens/paper/ink/etc, please drop me a line. I've been writing letters since last February, so we're keeping my post office in business.

Hi guys! in view of my effort, please put in your addresses into this excel sheet for InCoWriMo2014 (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgR5GvUUrfT8dE5YLVdLbzdURzRCcXZPVDZoUzRBY 0E&usp=sharing)!!!

I have typed in all addresses listed publicly earlier, feel free to edit (only your own details). You can click on the Headers/columns and list by alphabetical order be it by Name, Country or Username! (The header will shift as well but that’s a small issue right ;) )

This should make things easier when the participants grow exponentially~

It appears that I have gotten here late!

Actually first I wanted to go thru my InCoWriMo correspondence from 2013 before I even began to look for new correspondents. So I wrote down the 7 people who stuck with me all year long, and vice versa. Then after that I came here to see what was happening. There looks to be a very large interest in this Year Two of InCoWriMo.

So yes count me in again too.

Looking forward to your letter!

Thank you, Ryan. Quick question: Should I use a global stamp to send you a letter, or will regular postage from the US do? I am ashamed to say I have not written to a member of the US Armed Forces before. I look forward to sending a hand-written 'thank you' for your service.

Hi guys! in view of my effort, please put in your addresses into this excel sheet for InCoWriMo2014 (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgR5GvUUrfT8dE5YLVdLbzdURzRCcXZPVDZoUzRBY 0E&usp=sharing)!!!

I tried...don't think it worked for me. :(

I just joined this forum from the InCoWriMo website. I participated last year but didn't post my address online anywhere; I did write about eight people who posted theirs on the InCoWriMo website but only two people replied. I would like to get some mail from other people as well as write a lot of mail this year.

I'll reply to anyone who sends me a letter, notecard, or postcard. I added my information to the spreadsheet, but here it is as well:

[redacted - pm me for current address]

I had to update my participation status.

I am going to have to withdraw from participating.

I have a postable account (in signature) so if you fancy a letter from the UK (with nice postage), then you can leave your address on there (or by pm). I am a little hesitant leaving my address for the whole wide web to see (can posts be edited later?) but if you want my address, you could ask for it in a pm. Did I miss your listing of either an address or pm, or are you just sending out to people that are listed (which is ok, I started like this last year, before posting my address)?

If you have sent one my way, it should have a quick turnaround + (shipping * 2). I am replying to first contacts first, new people I contacted second, and existing people soon ish. :)

If you want to cut the shipping time in half, pm me your address and I will get things started.

I've only just been able to keep up with writing a letter a day, because we're starting on a new project and work has been hectic. I didn't even factor in people sending letters to me, but I've received 4 so far, 1 this Monday and 3 more this Wednesday. I never get letters, so I was pleasantly surprised to receive mail this week.

I am replying to every one I receive, hopefully get them done by this weekend and sent out next week.

Tupe40: I just had to post this photo. Your wax seal made it through mostly unscathed! Must be because we only have sorting by hand over here.

Nearly at the end of the month, a brief update from me, 22 letters sent out, 15 in, thanks to all that have written to me, all I've received have been replied to, 4 from UK, 1 from Sweden, 10 from USA. It's been interesting to write letters again, with the ease of e'mail it had been a long time since I hand wrote so many letters. Also I'd forgotten how lazy at spelling Microsoft Word makes you with it's automatic correction, I've had to think how to spell again!

Can't stop, got to go and write two more to keep up with target! Potter :)

Every one is a busy as a bee with InCoWriMo and when that is over (tomorrow) I imagine things will return to normal, which, for me, in 2103 was seven steady correspondents found thru InCoWriMo. I got a bit behind because I was away all weekend and then I had to catch up.
I got four out yesterday and another three done today, for a grand total of 28.
But that's it for me - I don't know how some people can do 35 or 40 in the month. I am in awe.

I have to get them to the post office now. I need my raincoat and umbrella - it's finally pouring here - it's been a long wait for rain. The upside is I get to pick up more mail too. Yay!!

Before the start of InCoWriMo I was wondering how I would ever get 28 letters done. With the last two going out in de mail today I have written 34 letters this month! It kinda just happened...now, replies are starting to come in, 6 on the 'to reply' stack so far, and a few incoming I expect. I really enjoyed this so much, I can't believe myself :) My trick was to just reserve an hour or two after dinner to write my letter(s) for the day.

I love InCoWriMo and I have a big stack of yummy letters here begging for my attention. It has been sad for me this week because I have had 12 hour days and high stress in a good way this week but it has very effectively kept me from writing at all. But having 14 incoming this week has been wonderful to come home to, so thank you to everyone who has been writing, you kept me sane and I will be writing soon to let you know that. I just cannot believe February is done.

I sent out 28 over the course of the month, and still ahve a few to reply to. Since 1/15 I've sent out 45 letters. I think the quieter IncoWriMo this year allowed me to be more reflective in my responses, though I loved getting surprise letters from new people.

Please feel free to keep writing me and I will respond, as soon as I get some new stamps.

Just dropped of my last two letters. It will take me a little time to work out all the stats that I plan on sharing but for a rough count:

73 (pre written, sent on the 1st)
74 written in February
32 replies written (counted in the above)

90 Total received

Leaving me with:
58 to reply to

Be patient, you all will receive a reply. Toulouse:Yours in in the queue.
Only 2 were undeliverable.

Well, I'm glad to say I've sent out the last batch of mail today just before mail pick up. Sent in total 56 pieces of mail (28 postcards and 28 letters/notecards) and I think I received about 25 this month (old and new pals included. So yes definitely a good month of mail!

WOW~ you guys are awesome! It’s my first year, and I have completed 47 for the InCoWriMo—31 letters, 15 postcards and 1 note. And my list isn’t finished…! Swarmed with work and now that Feb is over, thought I would dedicate more time to work than letters…hahaha…
