First pen review, so please do let me know if I'm missing anything essential. Hope this is at least somewhat useful!

It's not quite that blue in real life, more of a steely grey-blue.

Thanks to Annie for suggesting I review this pen.

Very nice looking pen and definately a bargain since you were capable of restoring it.
You could try adjusting the white balance of your camera to get a truer color on future reviews. I think about +1 would be perfect.

Since they're the lesser-known cousins to Mabie Todd and Swan,
bargains can be found in the Blackbird line(with perhaps
the exception being the "Oriental",which carries the "tur-
quoise" color a;so seen on the Waterman Patrician) .

Nice pen and a good catch!

Yes, Blackbirds are one of my favorite little pens. I've also got a full-flex one in the more traditional black rubber finish. The rest of my small collection is rather more mainstream however. Nothing else particularly exciting.
