So. I got a few batches of envelopes and felt like they needed something. Figured out how to put linings in and made a huge batch. Big enough for InCoWriMo!

Very nice they look great.

Being lazy I think of the letter as the lining for the envelope.

I think I can figure it out on my own but maybe you could share the process?

This coming from someone known to "upholster" notebooks. :D

KrazyIvan, I found the procedure on a craft blog.

Basically trace the envelope onto the liner paper, cut 1/4 inch inside the line, place it inside the envelope, crease, glue stick it along the upper edges.

I also tried my hand at making envelopes as well. This could turn into a "thing"...

 I'm sure some-one with legal expertise or even a good project manager could help me wriggle out of that comment.

those liners are great.

you know the best envelopes i like to get? bills, whatever? long, business envelopes with no diagonal construction seams, only one, straight (not diagonal, triangular) closing flap. they are great for taking notes. folding in half, and throwing in your pocket for making lists, etc.

Yes, I have been known to make my own envelopes from old atlas pages. :) I have received many cool DIY envelopes too.

No need to blush or wriggle. Hats off to you. :)

Nope. I had a rare few hours to myself this afternoon and needed to look at something bright instead of the rain

Well, I'd love to defend you Bogon, but we need to know all the facts first. Lets see those upholstered notebooks eh? ;)

I feel I should mention CWENT2's elegant alternative to lining the envelope.

Carl simply folds his letters inside a similar sized piece of decoratively patterned paper or card then placing them inside the envelope.

I love those linings! Very simple, too, thanks for sharing the tip!

I have a set of old envelope templates, and I turned an old fantasy calendar into some rocking envelopes. I hate putting address labels on them, though, lol.
