That sounds like you are not impressed with the flavour ?

The other day Mrs Bogon was commenting on the lack of flavour of the newly opened packet of Harris Royal Blend. I was thinking the same thing about it too. I think we may have spoilt ourselves with the Jamacia Blue beans that I had to grind before plungering. The horrible thing is I used to really like Royal Blend before. Maybe it is only a dodgey packet.

Tried some T2 Silver Needles white tea the other day, it was exquisite.

Today's sampler of T2 Passion. Sort of a herbal blend: Hibiscus, lemongrass, cardamon, jasmine blossoms, cloves, ginseng, rose petals and mallow flowers.

It's a crumbly, tangy cheese -- not as hard as Cheddar but not soft either like Brie. Supposedly, it has less cholesterol than gruyere :p

Looking up Muscovado was a little disappointing. Just an unrefined brown sugar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_sugar) with a strong molasses (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molasses) flavour. I was thinking of some sort of biscotti especially when drinking 'stud' coffee.

jor412
April 13th, 2013, 09:48 PM
Oh. haha Well this unrefined sugar tends to add a sort of nutty flavor & aroma to the coffee, whereas white sugar just makes it sweet. About the "stud" coffee -- That's hilarious. It's our local bean, quite cheap here and generic to us. I'm not much of a coffee connoisseur so this is just an estimate but I'd say barako is stronger but less subtle than arabica. My favorite coffee -- but it's expensive here -- is Columbian.

Bogon07

I'm not much of a coffee connoisseur either. I like Melita brand coffee but it is getting harder to find in the supermarkets. We've had a couple of work meetings across the road in the Coffee Pit (on Pitt Street :noidea:) which seem to make pretty nice coffee I don't need to add a sweetener to it. I should check what brand they use.

jor412
April 13th, 2013, 11:09 PM
LOL @ Coffee Pit on Pitt. I hardly ever see any Melita here except at upscale supermarkets where everything is overpriced. Other Melita products are more common than the beans -- the paper filters, travel coffee mug & drip, etc. I consider my Columbian fix a treat for getting exercise on a regular basis, but I can only get the beans at Starbucks. And then I get used to the flavor, and crave it, and that gets expensive.

I like Melitta, too. Can you get it on fleabay or Amazon? I haven't even seen it here in the USA for a while. Another brand I like is Gevalia.

This was actually last week. I only had a sip though. Too much cane sugar for my blood.

Why does Mexican Cola taste different than US Coke? Just had a sip. It has been a long time since I last tasted a real Coke. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ivan_romero/8700577074/) by IvanRomero (http://www.flickr.com/people/ivan_romero/), on Flickr

Does Coke use a different formula for Mexicola ?
I thought they used to have a different formula for Australia - slightly less sweet. Probably not any more though. We never had Cherry Coke here either only a very short run a long time ago.

No, this is not vintage. Available in stores in Central Texas. Also on tap in a few places. Look for the green label. I've also seen it in green cans.

Redbird Espresso thrown into an "Americano" and dosed with cream and sugar. Although that coffee is good enough I actually drank an espresso sans sugar for the first time ever the other day. If they are just the "good" stuff... Never thought I'd get shots like that from my little machine. Only problem is my coffee consumption has increased.

Anyone here on coffeegeek? I have been trying to get on there for weeks and no one returns my emails. I don't suppose I need another addictive forum but it would be nice to be able to ask a question now and then.

Hi. Thanks for asking.

I registered and got a confirmation email. Replied to that and got a notification I was on the "whitelist" and that was the last of it. Repeated attempts to sign on tell me resend my confirmation but the confirmation doesn't go through. And like i said, emails to board contacts havent been answered. I wanted to ask the occasional question. I learned about redbird by reading there.

maybe try registering with a new account and/or a different IP address. I have a problem with a particular watch forum and had to do that. Never heard of a whitelist. Sounds like the opposite of a blacklist??? If so that should be good, right?

It's the first time I've had a Bock type beer, it's not as hopped enough for my tastes, but not bad.

Ah, that's when the US ruined Coca-Cola for me. Cane sugar reminds me of my Coca-Cola childhood, a very cold Coke on a stifling hot New Orleans day is not to be forgotten.

Sure, Bogon, it's actually just regular milk. As opposed to skim, 1%, 2%. So many choices these days, the cow vendors actually put a "W" and/or "Whole Milk" on the carton. I must have the full flavor in my tea. :-)
