You are going to make be break out my dip pen and set the written word back at least a century.
Is there a source (US or German preferably) for thos metallic inks?

Beautiful!
Ken, is the name Miameri correctly spelled, or is it Maimeri instead? I'm asking because I know the Maimeri brand, they produce everything for Fine Arts...

Sangrisano :-

You're right, of course. It should be Maimeri. I bought my inks many years ago, and I'm out if touch with suppliers. Perhaps you're better fixed to answer Jeph's query.

Here another example - this time with a broad-edged nib. The patchiness is caused by the paper buckling when wet. Also, the colour is actually much more even than it appears here.

Hi Jeph,

Maimeri's information email is maimeri.info@maimerispa.it

In the past I have used (and to some extent still use) Maimeri watercolours quite extensively and they are very nice but I have never tried their gouache.

If you do not come right with finding a supplier in Germany there are many suppliers selling them in US. If you want the names of some of them please let me know. Or an alternative that I would recommend, one that I actually use is Schmincke gouache including their metallic colours, these gouache paints are specifically designed for Calligraphy.

Just for a follow up here is the link to their wooden boxed set:

Schmincke is definitely available in Germany :jaw: as they come from there.

Kind regards,

Rui

Ken,
I'm astonished looking at your art !
As for the distributors, I'm sorry I can't help: my office is only 5 miles from Maimeri's main office...
