After reading about Amalfi paper on Miss Elderberry's blog (http://thesebeautifulpens.blogspot.de/2012/11/the-review-i-just-couldnt-put-up-any.html), I kept my eyes peeled for online shops that carried it. I've considered one of those extraordinarily lovely (but extraordinarily expensive) leather journals with Amalfi paper from Jenni Bick (http://www.jennibick.com/fiorentina-francescano-leather-wrap-journal.html), but I wanted to try the paper before committing to something so pricey. I never came across Amalfi stationery or notecards until I found europeanpaper.com.

I stumbled across The European Paper Company (http://europeanpaper.com) a few days ago when I was searching for sketchbooks. I noticed that they carried Amalfi paper (http://europeanpaper.com/stationery/?brand=Amalfi%20Paper). I had never heard of the website, but they have such a wide variety of products from brands that other U.S. retailers don't often carry and so I decided to take a chance with them. I ordered the Amalfi watermarked stationery sheets and some notecards along with a sketchbook. I picked the free shipping option during checkout (which appears to be a temporary promotion but did not require a special code). I did not have to create an account. I just placed my order and received regular e-mail updates. I like that simplicity--there are no extra account nicknames or passwords to try to remember or worry about. My order shipped out the same day via Fed-Ex and arrived two days later. Everything was wrapped prettily and carefully packaged and very well-protected in the box.

I'm really impressed with their service and will be ordering from them again in the future. Highly recommended.

I have perused The European Paper Company website for some time now, but never actually placed an order. After reading your comments, perhaps I'll finally make that purchase.

And, I hear you about the nickname + password thing. I'm not really jazzed about creating an "account" with retailers. I don't know why. Perhaps because I find it time consuming, or another thing that I have to remember that I will in all likelihood forget.

Anyway, glad to hear the positive feedback. Thank you.

Thanks for the great tip, reprieve! The free shipping offer ends Monday (Jan. 20th) so those interested in saving on s&h need to act fast.

Thanks, I'll definitely bookmark this. They have some fascinating stationery made from elephant dung, brand "Poo Poo" that I'm not sure is F.P. friendly...

I thought europeanpaper.com meant Europe, that is, free shipping to Europe, and I got excited.

D'oh!

D'oh!

Sorry, I should have been clear about that in my post. They're a U.S. retailer based in Colorado. As far as I know, the free shipping offer only applies to domestic orders.

No, no, no. My mistake.

I could have an order sent in care of my mom, then ask her to send it to me (postage on her) - ha! Free shipping!

(Oh... so mean!)

(I wouldn't do that.)

(Maybe with a Nakaya....)
