I saw this review on the FPN and love this elongated barrel.

Does Edison pens make something like this?

Sort of. Brian Gray has a pen called the Gem. The cap screws onto the back of the pen to make it longer. He also has made a Mini Gem.

Not listed on his site but if you contact him he can tell you pricing. Photos in Smugmug of them if you search for gem. Here is a photo of a Mini Gem:

I will look in to that. I don't want a pocket or Mini I really think I like this for any full size piston pen also.

I really want those threads up high into the v of my hand not anywhere near my tripod of my fingers. Feeling the threads is just unwelcome.

I have the Edison Gems. About half a dozen of them. I used to have the original Gem, but it was still too large for my tastes in a pocket pen. The Gems are all custom, and really, I'm probably the main customer for them. They aren't in the signature line at Edison.

The original Gem, as envisioned by a contributor to another forum, was still a bit to large for my tastes. I had one original Gem made, in a material I didn't like (pink) because I told a former co-worker if we worked together, I would edit her work with a pink pen and ink. (She loved pink.) I eventually gave her the pen, but I got a mini Gem (my first) in the same material to still keep my promise to her.

The mini gem, though not too mini (I call it the pocket Gem), is one of my favorite pens, I got to work with Brian Gray on the changes from the original Gem. This one is approximately 12.4 mm in diameter, and about 4-1/2 inches long capped. Posted, on the threads made just for this purpose, it becomes a nice full sized pen for writing. It works well. It has a #5 nib vs the #6 nib used on most of the production models, all mine have steel nibs. Some of my minis have varied a little by growing up a little (next order will go back down again with specifics), but still hold in a good pattern for me. As a custom pen, the price starts at about $250. A gold nib will add another $100. The steel nibs work just fine. Oh, and they are eyedroppers, though I suspect a standard short international cartridge would fit, but no converter.

Here are some photos for you:

I love the material of this one

I also have them in the sapphire and bordeaux flake materials found in the Beaumont. These are also very nice, though I don't have photos of them right now.

And, the ocean flake in a comparison photo (one that grew up a smidge):

You may like the Pearlette as well. Love mine. Very compact production pen.
