Anyone know why this is? Both my 88s leaked and my new 98 leaks horribly around the clutch ring...and it doesn't matter how much silicone I put and how well I screw it down...my fingers always end up inky!! Does anyone else have this problem with these pens or know how to fix this?

Thanks!

No, my two Aurora 88P's are flawless, never a leak. The first word of your topic should have been "My".

My guess would be there are hairline cracks in the barrel. I've seen it a number of times in vintage 88s.

The 98's barrel isn't touching the ink compartment... It is simply a cover for the piston part.

UPDATE: Disassembled pen and put a ton of silicone grease around the clutch ring, and it worked! The pen no longer leaks!! It also writes better. I will post some disassembly pictures next time I flush it out.
