Let's start with the virtual desktop. I change my wallpaper a lot on my phone and my computer. I run Linux Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and am plaanning on going to 12.04 LTS soon.

My desktop which is a tribute to Star Wars Day. May the 4th be with you.

And to you as well. While you party for Cinco de Mayo, keep one eye open. After all, it is also Revenge of the Fifth. ;)

Haha! Good one!

Don't get me going on the cinco de mayo celebrations. I liken it to Mexico celebrating the Battle of Ghettysburg. (SP?) It's not going to happen. My wife is from Mexico and she does not understand the US infatuation with the date. My sister in law is from Ireland and she does not get St. Patrick's day celebrations either. Lol

I think there can't be more to it than Americans feeling the need for an excuse to party. I don't get any of it either. May 5th is really the mid point to be thinking about what you want to do for mothers day! :D

What a great idea for computer background, though. Especially using images of your own stuff.

Time for a new one. I bought a new phone and finally got it setup the way I want. I have a Samsung Galaxy S II with GoLauncher UI and a theme called "Black Glass". I replaced the wallpaper with my own but kept the icons.

This reminds me ... it's time to start clearing the files off my desktop.
Just like the top of my real desk, my computer desktop tends to get completely cluttered before I swoop in and clean it all off, only to start all over again. No photo, because I'm too ashamed.

Nice one Etoyoc. At first I thought it may have been your pet Chupacabra. One theory is that they are mutated coyotes But staring at the big picture it looks like something from a PSP MonterHunter game.

I think that may be the original source as well. I found it one day on a google search for something else and saved it a wallpaper folder for future use.

Recently we used my work laptop in a conference room to work on some documents. Once we plugged into the media port for thecthree screens in the room, this was the view. It made me happy, but my team just smiled sadly. Ha ha

This is my current classroom desktop picture. Wednesday Addams (Grammostola rosea) molted last week. I'm trying to decide how to safely mail the exoskeleton to one lucky pen pal!

That exoskeleton (exuvium, actually, since it's cast off) may not get sent. I brought it into school so my students could see it, and a few of the Middle Schoolers have dropped it. As a result, it's missing a few legs.

Those are some sexy .30-06 ! Is that their actual color?

A sudden access of altruism leads me to say, I can live with being one of the unlucky penpals in this instance.

It's just a random photo of .223 I found some time ago. The original, uncolored and less cool looking, photo is out there somewhere too.

This is me....I like things uncluttered....&....I love cars - fast ones ;)

Honestly this car isn't that fast, I just love the wheel shot & the logo...the car that really tickles my fancy is the Mclaren P1. :) I guess it's time for a background change!

exuvia (plural exuviae)

(biology) The remains of an exoskeleton that is left after an insect, crustacean or arachnid has molted.

exuvium
English[edit]
Noun[edit]
exuvium (uncountable)

Misspelling of exuvia.
Usage notes[edit]
This error stems from the misconception that exuvia is a plural (as stadia, from stadium).

Ha ha! I really did want to send it to you, but my Middle Schoolers were pretty rough with it. Several of the legs have fallen off, and it's not nearly as impressive looking.
