Step 1
Cut out the back 9.5" x 7.5"
Cut facing piece for the flap as shown in next photo.

Next cut out exactly the same pieces in the contrast fabric which will form the inside.

Next cut out a piece of the main fabric 5.5" square.

This will form the slots for the pens inside.
Next step - Cut soft light-weight interlining for all pieces except the main outside piece.
For the main piece cut a square of soft low loft fusible wadding 5.5" and pieces of standard soft interfacing for the rest of the main part.

Wadding and interfacing ironed onto the main wrap outer piece.

10015Photo for the last post.

10016Apply interfacing to inside main piece and flap facing. Interfacing 1/4" smaller than fabric all round.

10018Pin together outside main piece and flap facing and the same for the inside main piece.Interfacing to outside panel flap facing and the Pen Slots piece.

10017Interfacing to outside panel flap facing and the Pen Slots piece.

The photos are not quite in the right order!!

Sew up the flaps and turn right sides out.
Attach inside to outside piece right sides together, sew all round from top of flaps to lower edge of flaps.
Clip corners. Turn right sides out, pushing out the corners with knitting needle or similar.

Main part complete, pin flaps together as shown (corner turned up to show that it is still unattached as yet).
