Quite something. Closest thing to a Steel Age Power Filler right now.

I just crossed a grail pen off my list & already this could take up the blank spot.
Bloodly hell that has the same fantastic material as the Opera Master demo of a few years ago. And it is a double reservoir power filler too.

That is kind of interesting indeed! I am not one for demonstrators, but the swirled effect with a power filler would probably outweigh all of that!!

It is very striking. Did anyone "kick the tires" yet to find out the price?

660EU in Europe/541EU outside Europe $735USD (although the currency converter indicates $740)

Not terrible. On par with the Divina and around what I paid for the blue ripple. More than the Cosmos Collection pens though. But that is a sweet price spot for Visconti - they like it in that range and I have always been so pleased with the pens I can't complain.

It's definitely grail pen territory.

I just wish there is something made of lava. Well, the beauty of this pen plus its power filler (double reservoir) more than made up for it.

Is this going to be a LE, SE or regular production pen?
Edit: Just looked more carefully, limited run of 1000 pieces.

Mmmmm, doesn't float my boat I'm afraid. Am I missing something?

But I like that Opera demonstrator in Bogon's post

My Opera Typhoon Mosquito filler was a 1000 edition run too.

Llewellyn that IRC Opera blue swirl demonstrator is even more expensive than the HS Crystral.
I think Lisantica has one of those Opera demos.

Why didn't they just make a new model? The Homo Sapiens had such a deep design philosophy with the basaltic material. Acrylic doesn't have much to do with ancient or modern anything. Acrylic is what my taillights are made out of.

That's not to say it isn't a pretty pen, I just think if they were going to go away from the old material and use the Homo Sapiens name, why not choose a more interesting material than acrylic. Perhaps hard rubber, or maybe even create a new proprietary material that plays off the original basaltic stock.
