Just noticed (hope I'm not repeat anyone else on the forum) that J Herbin have released a genuine fountain pen, it seems very expensive to me, but then I'm a real cheapskate anyway. The details are at:

Hope this link works, I'm not an expert with these things

That looks like a Recifle FP. Wonder if they outsourced.

Suddenly an eydropper becomes a "direct filler." Kudos to the marketeers.

Heh. I have a Recife Crystal...this is a bit of a different barrel and cap shape.

Only a medium nib. :\ Fairly interesting looking until I got to that part. Come on folks.

It sort of looks like that new Stipula cartridge filler too.

The photos aren't the best, but seems kind of expensive, no?

The pen is kind of 'meh'. But I did notice this (http://www.bureaudirect.co.uk/j-herbin-picknmix-mini-ink-bottles/p3793) in the sidebar. Why have I never seen/heard of these before? They are the cutest little things.

Found 10 piece sets as well. They come in a super cute box (http://www.bureaudirect.co.uk/j-herbin-ten-inks-set/p3791). Shipping is super reasonable too. Only $23 USD shipped for the four bottles. Hmm...

Has anyone ordered from Bureau Direct before? How did it go?

Yes they are my regular stationery suppliers for Rhodia etc, also I brought the new Lamy Al-Star from them, very reliable and quick on delivery, Jo is my contact there. I'm trying to get them to stock the Hobonichi planner for next year, but I think its a 'bridge too far' for them. If you want to save further wait until start of next month when they have their monthly offer, from first Wednesday of each month they have a 10% discount on all products with a code word that lasts seven days, the code word is usually something topical, for March it was CURLING, where the Uk won a couple of Olympic medals this time around. I get a weekly Wednesday email from them, that's where the news of this new pen came from, apparently the 10ml J Herbin pots are an exclusive? If anyone wants to take advantage of the 10% discount PM me with your Email and I'll send the code name on the first Wednesday in April.

Thanks, Potter! I signed up for their mailing list and will hold off purchasing until next month.

Seems very expensive and looks to have build quality no better than your average Serwerks pen.

That is almost for sure a Récife. Same cap finial and clip shape; Herbin and Récife are both French; Récife has been calling their eyedroppers "direct filling" for a long time.

The band around the cap is little different, and the shape of the butt end of the barrel is different. It is less expensive than the equivalent Récife, which used to be called the "Crystal" but now is called "Reservoir Set", part of the "Amber" collection, and is listed at 90 euro on their site. Go to recife.fr and compare. It looks like Récife no longer offers a choice of nib size either. :( That was still an option only a short time ago.

My Récife Crystal with F nib is my favorite pen, fwiw.

There is an Indian made pen by Airmail/Wality that look almost exactly the same, but I've been told the nib and feed are not as good. It costs way less even including international shipping. I've not ever seen one in person. The Airmail version is called 69T and there is a picture right here on FPG (http://fpgeeks.com/forum/showthread.php/3317-Airmail-Wality-Eyedroppers).

I think I have one of those Airmails in black. Nib is nowhere near as nice as my Recife, and I now want to put a sac in it.

What color Recife do you have? It's hard to find the 'vintage' ones now.

It looks like isellpens (http://www.isellpens.com/category_s/1835.htm?searching=Y&sort=7&cat=1835&show=180&page=1) is selling Herbin 10mL bottles. He doesn't have a picture up, but I can't think of what else it would be. Unfortunately he only has them in four colors so far.

My Crystal's section and cap are officially "Gold" (http://s96.photobucket.com/user/mistercharlie/media/fpn/writingisterrible_zps8a737fb5.jpg.html); I bought it in 2005.
