For Sale: Pilot Murex / MR. Medium nib. Made in 1979
I got this pen about a year ago and it has worked well for me. I'd prefer a fine nib rather than the medium, so I'm selling this to fund buying a different one, or who knows what else :-D
The pen has some wear - just small scratches that are visible in many of the pictures. It writes wonderfully, the nib is very smooth, and it writes maybe just a little bit on the wet side (though I'm not used to judging flow). It is certainly never dry and doesn't ever skip or have hard starts.
I'll include one or maybe a couple cartridge convertor and also some pilot ink cartridges (which I prefer to refill myself instead of using the convertors).
The pen does have a small issue, which I believe is common or normal for these pens. Some ink can end up coming out of the pen where the grip section and the barrel meet. It comes out of the dog ear holes. For me it as only ever came out while rubbing my hand or fingers directly on that part (it doesn't leak out on it's own). This only happens with certain inks. Maybe somewhere around 1/3 of inks. I haven't experimented a lot as it seemed to make more sense to just use inks that worked well and didn't leak out at all. (A couple being Asa Gao, and I believe Oxblood)
