I just ordered the Edison Nouveau Cherry Blossom today and got a 1.1 stub nib. Looking for suggestions for a Pink ink with some shading...what would those be?

I have loved that Emily Dickinson pink since I saw it on Azizah's blog. I also like J. Herbin Rose Cyclamen and De Atramentis Magenta Violet.

Another ink to consider if you don't want an overload of pink is Noodler's Dragon's Napalm. It is a pink/neon orange depending on the nib and paper, but usually more pink than orange. In a very wet, broad nib it looks like mercurochrome. I have found it to behave well on all types of paper.

Goulet's have a pink swab comparison.

Noodler's Dragon Catfish Pink looks good & you get a great looking label too.

also like the look of Georgia Peach

Herbin Rose Cyclamen immediately came to mind when I saw that pen. But it doesn't shade a whole lot--it's pretty saturated. I love the color, though. Iroshizuku Kosumosu usually shows some nice shading. Diamine Flamingo Pink is awesome in a flex nib but it's probably a bit too coral for the pink Premiere. I also really like R&K Solferino.

I think those are highlighter inks, so I don't know how well they'll work in a fountain pen...

Yes your are correct they are highlighter inks and maybe used with a wide stub or italic nib.

Catfish Pink highlighter fountain pen ink. This bottle has a built-in eyedropper. Comes with a free eyedropper Platinum Preppy marker pen and a black light.

Georgia Peach highlighter fountain pen ink. These inks were designed as highlighting inks. They are true colors, but still translucent enough for highlighting text.

Whoa--I'd forgotten about mercurochrome!!! The color of my knees throughout my childhood!

Samples already coming with the pen:

DeAtramentis Apple Blossom

Platinum Cyclamen Pink

Thanks for the suggestions; even with the great pictures on Goulet's site, I have to guess about shading and have only owned 2 pinks so far, a favorite-- Iroshizuku Kosumosu and not-so-favorite Edelstein Turmaline. Couldn't get the Kosumosu to shade in my other 1.1 stub.

I do have some Dragon's Napalm to try as well. Will be adding suggestions to the cart as samples!

The Apple Blossom could shade. I don't know enough about Platinum inks to guess about that one.

Did you try diluting the Kosumomo? If it has any tendency to shade, that should help.

Have you found a good match for your pink Edison? Which pink ink is your favorite so far?

Last time I looked, all of the Cherry Blossom Edisons were out of stock. Rachel Goulet had it on the money (she was the one who argued for the color, according to Brian's Ink Nouveau video). But it was a stunning pen.

I think they will be getting more in. If I understand these seasonal editions correctly, they are different than a limited edition. They will continue to make them until the new seasonal model is introduced, which is June in this case. If you want one of these pink models, I would go to the listing and sign up for the "email me when back in stock" reminder.
