A rough legged buzzard migrating from sweden to denmark and further south.

That shows what I know; I would call that an eagle. Buzzards are supposed to be ugly. That ain't ugly.

In NA they're known as rough legged hawks (Buteo lagopus). We generally use the term buzzard for vultures.

The latin name is Buteo lagopus as you say, but i suppose the names could be different dependent on where you are.

I always thought buzzards fed exclusively on carrion. This magnificent winged beauty looks like a true bird of prey to me. In any case, another wonderful shot, farmdogfan!

Thanks Robert, as far as i know are their eating habits much the same as a "normal" buzzard.

Ha ha ha!! That buzzard leg needs the pink flop to the right. Dress it up ;)
