: Green Esterbrook SJ with a 1555 Gregg Nib
$50 Shipped USPS Priority mail to CONUS
This pen was an antique store rescue. I paid way to much for it because it had a Gregg nib and I just had to try it because it sounded sexy and dangerous. It is neither. It is a plain demure medium nib. Now I will say this, you can answer a phone call with it uncapped and use it a few minutes later and it is still wet and ready to go. The nib is very smooth when used with no pressure. If you press down a bit the little hook at the bottom digs in and it gets rough. It has good wetness probably 5-6 on the wetness scale. It keeps up with fast flourishes no problem. Overall a nice small Esterbrook with an interesting nib. I inked it up and wrote two pages with it to make sure there were no flow problems then cleaned the pen again. I used Edelstine Aventurine.
I have fully cleaned the pen and gave it light polish. It's got a couple layers of Renaissance Wax also. It's too dainty for my ham fists.
I will also entertain trades and offers.
