Hello!
I've been around here a few weeks but I just realized I never introduced myself. I'm a college student in the greater St. Louis area and I adore fountain pens. As much as I like pens the obsession falls secondary to a newly found ink obsession. My mother is an professional artist so I get my color love from her. I enjoy reading, film cameras, psychology, and archaeology. I have fountain pens to be a godsend during classes which are note heavy and I'm looking to expand my collection of inexpensive pens so I can increase my ink color range.

Any locals wanna suggest a pen store in the area?

Right now my favorite color has to be Edgar Allen Poe by OS. Arsenic runs a close second. That will probably change as I sample inks more though. As for cameras I am a proud owner of a Diana, a Diana mini wonderland edition, and a nikormat with regular and telephoto lenses for normal use. I also have a fuiji instax and some others that aren't as reliable as my top three.

Inks can be as obsessive as pens for sure... as well as notebooks/paper

I often wonder ... do I buy inks for my fountain pen collection or do I buy pens for my ink collection. I started with pens, but lately I've been a little more interested in inks. When you couple a large ink collection with a sizable number of pens, the combinations are exponential, and I am constantly reminded how much influence one ink can have on a pen's performance.

Welcome to FPG. There are many members here who have an interest in inks.

And some people like to use their fountain pen ink to "decorate" the walls of their laundry...........*Syrah* *cough*

Welcome inky. People seem to come for the pens and stay for the INK!

inkyletters please take note. This is what happens when you own up to a malfunction of your Visconti power filler that sprays ink around. Better to keep schtum about it otherwise the incident gets literally spread around the globe.
