Vacumania (that'd be David Isaacson) will be there Thurs-Sat.

My goal as always is to find some great vintage pens for my collection and for website stock.

If you'd like to see some of my prior Chicago Pen Show Booty Shots, they hide next door at Fountain Pen Board.

David's Chicago 2011 Fountain Pen Booty (http://fountainpenboard.com/forum/index.php?/topic/1449-chicago-2011-booty-shot-serious-eye-candy/)

Here's one tray of the bunch shown

Solid Gold Sheaffers, High End Parker "51"s, etc.

Bring me more, more more...

regards

david

Sunday for sure! Hopefully both days if the weather goes down hill on Saturday!

I don't think I have ever been so excited for rain. :P

I will pull in late Thursday night so I'll be ready to go first thing Friday morning. I'll have plenty of the patent books on hand, as reviewed in Pen World recently, as well as the completed draft of Volume 2 for everyone to see and preorder.

And of course, pens and pencils by the pound.

My buddy John Hall and I are traveling together. For those of you who don't know John, he has been dabbling in replating and does a wonderful job. Bring him your rough looking trim and he'll get you fixed up at the show.

Note too that the early phase of pen patent information, fully free, is popping up at Fountain Pen Board. But, more on that another day.

My wife and I will be there on Saturday and Sunday if I have any money left. It will be our first show because we are new to collecting and don't know what to expect.

Hi, Lady Onogaro --Well at least I will know to include a story or two from my experience there. I will take lots of photos as well.

Thank you for the well wishes! :)

Could a few of you give me a heads up on the show, what to expect etc. I probably won't recognize you but you will recognize my wife and I, say 'hi Hawk'. I am tall, my wife is short and she will be walking with a big golden retriever

Here's an important heads up: There will be pens you find you NEED. Not want. NEED. Bring three times as much money as you were planning on. I plan on eating edible plants I find in the lawn of the hotel and drinking rainwater I collect in a cup outside my window so I can spend more on pens while I'm there.

I will definitely say hello. I'll be wearing a ridiculous shirt of some sort and a black velvet jacket. My wife plans on dressing normally. I prefer abnormal.

Well I think I will be rather obvious to spot. I should look like an extra off of Sons of Anarchy.

I'm really really nice I swear!

As is always the case for those of us in other regions, pix of the event are HIGHLY appreciated. In the days now of camera phones, there really is no excuse. ;)

I can't be there this year, but someday... I have a cousin in Chicago and just may get the urge to visit in May. ;)

I'll be heading over there on Saturday AM. Heck, from my house, if the weather was nice, I would walk to the show!

I should be arriving there in the AM too. I'm not too far away. Not walking distances. But a short ride.

I am at the Chicago pen show. My plan was to NOT buy any pens, just enjoy the show and absorb some history. I made it thru Susan Wirth. I made it thru Sarge the one man pen show. I made it thru Brian and all the Edison Pens. I made it thru Bertram's Inkwell. I made it thru the whole show pen free and And then I got talking to Roger Cromwell. He crafted, just for me, before my eyes, a custom flex pen using a Taccia Savanna Bison horn pen and a flex nib from a dip pen. And tuned it as i wrote with it. How could I resist that? HOW???!? You can't write without ink so I got some Montblanc Red Chalk Burgundy, and Permanent Grey, and some Diamine Salamander. Since I blew my plan I got some Pilot Parallels from the Anderson's in what Lisa described as "snow shovel and junior snow shovel" size. Also the hotel's Margaritas are crazy strong. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/04/6uheje2a.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/04/6enate3e.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/04/e9esa4at.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/04/e9uramup.jpg

I thought Game of Thrones wasn't on until Sunday?!

(Thanks for the report, and congrats on the pen. At least Roger didn't twist your arm into one of those (many) multi-thousand dollar affairs he shows up with. :)

Did you have the Margaritas to wash down your purchases, or did you imbibe BEFORE going to the show? :)

Definitely AFTER. My car is not big enough to hold the pens I would have bought if I had started before. :D

Great photo set, Hector! I'm surprised by the elbow room in Chicago - the setup in LA is a lot more crowded. And, geez, Lambrou, Rossi, and Kullock sure have some beautiful pens! I think you captured the light in the LB celluloids really well. Thanks for all the great pix.

Lambrou can talk your face off. He is super passionate about his pens! He had me convinced I was losing money by not buying his pens and books. :D My money was long gone by the time I got to him though....... LOL.

It was relatively quiet both days. Good for me. :D Not so good for the vendors. :( Most of the photos were taken on Sunday as I was busy spending my money on Saturday. I can't fill both hands with pens if I have a camera in one of them. :D

Also Jack Lynch is an awesome guy. I wanted one of his Parker Vacumatics, I'm not into them really as I like flexies, but he makes these awesome all brass replacement fillers and he had one in his pile with an awesome cap jewel that was calling my name at a great price. I was broke as a joke on Sunday though..... :D
