Hi,

I own a beautiful Waterman Laureat pen with an ugly broken nib.

I have Googled all over looking for replacement nibs or current compatible nibs but have had no luck.

Do any of you have any suggestions where I could look?

Also, I would like to post a photo but I can't figure out how to do it. (Help!)

Looks like you are trying to link to a facebook photo? (When I try to copy your broken image URL that is what I get). Instead try uploading the photo directly to this site as an "attachment" in the post editor. That will allow you to insert it into the post directly.

Here is my attempt to attach a photo of my Waterman Laureat in a brown and black pattern.

It worked! :) I don't know where to source a replacement nib but I'm sure someone else can help!

I wish you had given us a photo of the nib or side view to make sure, but I think what you have is a late style Laureat. I'll load some photos later in the Waterman forum, but can give you the brief version now.
Most steel nib Watermans from the era use the same nib and feed. Some imprints my vary. Later Laureat in gold plate uses the same nib and feed as:
JIF Metal, Forum GT, Reflex GT open nib, Apostrophe, Harmonie GT, Ici GT (GT = gold plate trim)
The late Pro Grad and some really cheap JIFs also use the nib, but the feed is longer.
There is an equally long list of the same nib in polished steel, and the Expert II has the same in two-tone or polished.
Imprint details will be different on the cheaper pens, but I can find no difference in writing experience or corrosion.

Good luck!

You have a very nice Shadow finish in lacquer on brass. I find it a remarkably attractive finish for an inexpensive pen.
I hope you find a nib. I would suggest a cheap donor pen, or ask here (http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/classifieds/item/26563-fountainpen-nibs-and-other-parts/).

Thanks for the information. Here is a photo of the nib, front and side views.

C'mon, All that needs is a little smoothing. Or check our new Waterman forum for compatible nibs (http://fpgeeks.com/forum/showthread.php/6913-Waterman-Steel-nib-interchangeable-compatible)
