Hi all,

These pens have all been recently restored and are ready to fill with
ink and use.

If you see one or more pens that you like, please reply to me at:

If you intend to make a purchase, please read "Rules, shipping,
etcetera" at the bottom of this post.

4. circa 1906 sterling silver filigree overlay fountain pen. I do not
know which company made this pen. It sort of resembles the .999 fine
silver overlay Waterman's pens of that period. It has a definite Art
Nouveau style of overlay marked "Sterling" on the cap and barrel. It
has the name "Frank Prall" engraved on the indicia panel. It has a
flower pattern hand engraved on one side of the cap and other engraved
flourishes on the cap and barrel. All the work appears to be of decent
moderate quality. There is a bit of very light discoloration of the
hard rubber on the cap, the barrel is pretty black. The pen came with
a Waterman's Flexible Fine 14K nib. It did not fit the feed in it, so
I mated it with a Waterman's feed. It sometimes blobs a bit of ink. I
sealed the nib and feed in the section, which helped the problem, but
didn't seem to completely stop it. I think it could be fixed, if you
were to think the problem through a bit.

Price reduced to $225.00 shipping included in the U.S. Foreign shipping
see "Rules, Shipping, Etc." below.

5. Waterman's #12 in red and black mottled hard rubber. This is a slip
cap eyedropper fill pen. It's a good useable pen and about 100 years
old I do not know the exact age of this pen. I think they started making
#12's from around 1898 and may have produced them until the early
1920's. The pen has some light discoloration and has seen lots of use.
The barrel imprint and the model number are very worn. It has been
polished. The nib is a rigid marked "Manifold". It is a very smooth writing
Fine that borders on medium and writes a wet line. The black parts of
the hard rubber have turned to a warm brown color.

6. circa 1876 MacKinnon stylographic fountain pen. Yes, you read the
date right circa 1876! The MacKinnon pens were the first commercially
successful fountain pens. They were invented and marketed by Duncan
MacKinnon, 200 Broadway, New York City, N.Y. This pen is made of black
chased hard rubber, with gold filled chased and repousse' cap, barrel
end and barrel band. The pen measures 4 13/16 inches or 12.3 cm. The
hard rubber barrel and section have some light discoloration. The
barrel chasing is deep and distinct. The barrel is imprinted, next to
the barrel end "D. MacKinnon Pat. Mar. 21, 76". I did ink test the
pen, and it writes a light colored line of ink. I did not fool around
with it too much to see if I could get it to write better, figuring
most people would not want to write with it anyway. I did disassemble
the pen and clean it. It has the original weighted wire, that
protrudes very slightly from the tip, which is supposed to help the
ink flow correctly. These are fairly hard to find pens, and this one
is different than the other two MacKinnons I have owned. It has a slip
cap on the tip, instead of a screw on cap, and the chasing pattern is
different than any I have seen.
